My name is Mr. Kaus and I am very excited to be beginning my fifth year teaching at WEM! This will be my seventh year of teaching as I taught 6th grade in St. Peter for two years. I am originally from St. James, MN, where I completed my high school degree. I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College (Go Gusties!) in 2009 with a degree in elementary education.

I look forward to getting to know and working with our new 5th grade students this year! I will be teaching three sections of Language Arts/Reading, as well as a section of Social Studies to my homeroom. In addition to teaching, I am also the Head Girls Basketball Coach and JV Baseball Coach for our district.

During my free time you'll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, reading, or doing anything involving sports (playing, watching, you name it!). I'm a huge MN sports fan so if there is a game on, there's a good chance I'm watching it. My wife Emilie and I live in Elysian, and she is a teacher in the St. Peter school district. We also welcomed our daughter, Dessa, into the world recently so we love soaking up every moment with her!
