Little Bucs Preschool 2022-2023

UPDATE 7/28/22: Little Bucs Preschool will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in our preschool classroom at Waterville Elementary. Stop in to check out our classroom, meet the teacher and assistants, have a treat, and enjoy some fun, hands-on learning activities! This is a great time to ask any questions you might have, and help your preschooler get comfortable with their school. Whether you are exploring your preschool options or already registered, all are welcome to attend!

Registration is now open for Little Bucs Preschool (formerly known as Kindergarten Connection). Little Bucs Preschool is a hands-on, play-based school readiness program within WEM Public Schools. We focus on learning developmentally appropriate academic and cognitive skills, as well as fine and large motor skills that will help your child be successful as they begin school. Little Bucs Preschool is a safe, caring learning environment for your child with an emphasis on social-emotional growth. Our program offers classes for students preparing for Kindergarten, as well as our younger learners who are just beginning their journey through school. Our goal is to provide for the diverse needs and learning styles of children in our community.

Preschool classes are held during the school year from September through May. WEM will have four sections of preschool for the 2022-2023 school year. (Two of the sections will occur at the same time, two separate classes.)

Preschool Sections

Age 3: T/W/Th Morning
8:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Must be 3 years of age by September 1, 2022
Geared for 3 years old only

Ages 3 & 4: T/W/Th Morning
8:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Must be at least 3 years of age by September 1, 2022
Class makeup may change depending on registration numbers

Ages 4 & 5: M/T/W/Th Afternoon - 2 classes
12:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Must be at least 4 years of age by September 1, 2022
Recommended for children entering Kindergarten 2023-2024

Preschool Requirements

Children must be potty trained and meet the above-mentioned age requirements. The following information is needed prior to starting preschool:

Completed online registration
Immunization record
Federal tax return for the previous year ONLY if you would like to be placed on the sliding fee scale (The WEM Community Education Department will determine if you qualify for a reduced rate.)

MDE - Pathway II Scholarship applications will be made available after your registration is received. If you would like an “Educational Benefits Application Form,” please indicate this in the online application.

Preschool Registration

Register online

To reserve your child’s seat in the preschool program, you must submit the online registration form and pay the non-refundable $25 registration fee as instructed at the end of the form. You will be contacted about your application in late summer, at which time you will be informed of a parent meeting date and time.
