WEM has a vast assortment of athletic, fine arts, and academic offerings for our student body as well as cooperative agreements with neighboring districts.
WEM has College NOW and Advanced Placement (AP) course offerings as well as Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program.
WEM School District was recognized as a 2022 Sustaining Exemplar PBIS District by the Minnesota Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) State Leadership Team. Morristown Junior High and Waterville Elementary were also recognized individually as PBIS Exemplar schools.
The facilities of WEM underwent extensive construction and remodeling improvement projects during 2019-2021.
In accordance with Chapter 124D, Section 124D.03 Enrollment Options Program under Minnesota Statutes, open enrollment allows Minnesota families to enroll their children in a public school district of their choosing regardless of residential address. The law was enacted in 1988 for the 1989-90 school year in an effort to close the achievement gap. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is an Achievement and Integration District (under Subd. 4), so the January 15th enrollment deadline is not applicable. Students can open enroll into WEM at any time.
